About the Artist

Award-winning French pianist Maxime Zecchini is one of the most distinctive and acclaimed figures of the contemporary French piano scene. A laureate of numerous international competitions, he has built an international career defined by artistic originality, technical mastery, and a strong commitment to musical storytelling.

He performs regularly on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Théâtre du Châtelet, La Seine Musicale, the Salle Gaveau, the Eiffel Tower, the Beijing and Shanghai Operas, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and the Kiev Philharmonic. He has also appeared as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Malaysian National Symphony Orchestra, the Pasdeloup Orchestra, the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cuenca Symphony Orchestra, and the Nizhny Novgorod Philharmonic Orchestra.

Invited to perform in over 80 countries, Zecchini is widely recognized for his unique artistic identity and innovative approach to repertoire. His monumental recording project—a ten-volume anthology dedicated to works for the left hand (solo piano, concertos, and chamber music)—is a world first. Released on AdVitam Records / PIAS, the project has received unanimous critical acclaim, including distinctions such as FFFF (Télérama), 4 keys (Diapason), and 4 stars (Classica), as well as extensive coverage in major media including Le Monde, Le Figaro, France Musique, Radio Classique, France Inter, France Culture, TV5 Monde, and France Info TV.

He was the first French pianist to graduate from the prestigious “Incontri col Maestro” Academy in Imola, Italy. He is also a laureate of the Cziffra Foundation, winner of the Arcachon International Competition, the Normandy Forum, and the Ragusa-Ibla Competition, and received First Prize unanimously at the Varenna International Competition on Lake Como. He graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon with highest honors and unanimous jury approval before completing advanced studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.

An eclectic and collaborative artist, Zecchini has performed alongside singer Julia Migenes and taken part in concert-readings with Anouk Aimée, Francis Huster, and Thierry Lhermitte. As a composer and arranger, he has created numerous transcriptions and original works published by Éditions Durand–Salabert–Universal Music.
