Daefle

The DAEFLE (Certificate of competency to teach French as a foreign language) is a higher or continuing education distance course. It is meant for anyone preparing to teach or already teaching French to non-French speakers, whether in France or abroad. This professionally oriented course leads to a diploma and is the result of a partnership between the Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France and the Centre National d’Enseignement à Distance (CNED - National Centre for Distance Learning). You can thus attend this course wherever you are.

To better serve you, the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur gives you the opportunity to sit the DAEFLE exams in Kuala Lumpur.

 

Access test

To register to the full course, you first need to pass the access test which is done online exclusively.
Four sessions are opened for the 2020 access test, in April, May, October and December respectively. The precise test dates as well as the deadline for registration to each session can be found on the DAEFLE registration form.

Registering to the test costs RM395.

You will need to register at the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur (procedures here below) and provide:

• the filled-in registration form

• one copy of an upper secondary or higher education certificate (should said certificate not be in French, a certified translation will be required)

• one copy of your ID card or passport    

• payment of the registration cost.

Shortly before the test date, you shall receive an email with your access codes to the platform hosting the test. T&C of this test can be downloaded.

Final test

There are two available dates for the final test: June 9^th and December 8^th, 2021. The deadline for registration can be found on the  DAEFLE registration form.

Registering to the test costs RM1775. Should there be one single candidate to a particular session, an additional RM189 will be required at the end of the registration period to said session.

You will need to register at the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur (procedures here below) and provide:

• the filled-in registration form

• one copy of the notification of attendance to the 6-module course

• one copy of your ID card or passport    

• payment of the registration cost.

Shortly before the examination, you shall receive an email with your notification to the test, which will take place at the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur, 15 Lorong Gurney. T&C of this test can be downloaded.

Registration procedure

You can register in person, with all the necessary documents, in our Lorong Gurney and Bangsar offices. We recommend you phone us first (03 2694 7880) to check the office of your choosing will indeed be open when you come.  

You can pay by cash, cheque and credit or debit card. Kindly note, AMEX & DINERS are not accepted.

You can also register by email by scanning all your documents to exams@alliancefrancaise.org.my , along with a proof of successful bank transfer. The transaction number must be visible on the receipt or screen copy of successful transfer. Failing to do so, payment will be ignored until proof is sent to us.
