16 watercolour paintings by Malaysian artist Victor Chin for your viewing pleasure at AFKL!
A homage to the aesthetics of the vernacular shop house facades of the Straits Settlements in Malaysia, Victor Chin’s artwork is also a visual critique of some of the local architectural conservation practices.

About Victor Chin
A painter, documentary film maker and an activist.
His subjects are usually outside of the popular mainstream media. He is intent on lending a voice to the voiceless and to throw light on the less privileged section of the community. He lives and works in Kuala Lumpur.

A guided tour by Victor Chin himself and a movie "MOVED OUT" will be screened after the tour. 

The film ‘Moved Out’ is about Victor's artistic and emotional response to urban vernacular street scape and community under threat with eviction and demolition. This film was done in 2018, during his tenure as the Artist-Residence, at the Tun Tan Cheng Lock Centre for Asian Architecture and Urban Heritage, under the Department of architecture, National University of Singapore.
