Our programmes are well-structured in order to achieve specific goals, but our main purpose is for each class to be great, fun and
interactive so that children will enjoy joining them each week and develop a real love for French language.
18 months to 3 y.o.
Coming back soon.
4 to 6 y.o.
7 to 9 y.o.
Kindly take note that we are quite strict on age groups: each of them has been especially designed by our talented team to answer
exactly the cognitive and affective development of your children. Our teachers also adapt themselves to the specific needs of each child
and each group
A unique approach to learn, play and laugh… en français !
Our multi-sensory approach includes rituals and routines, songs and storytellings, games and toys,
puppets, art and crafts, dance and motricity development, colors, forms, sounds and various materials to touch.
Part of our unique programme is based on repetition, as toddlers love to repeat again and again their
favorite stories, songs and games, but each session will of course introduce new activities. The groups will also explore two specific
themes per term, for a more effective vocabulary learning.
A
safe and comforting environment
A classroom has been especially designed at AFKL to welcome young and very young children.
As toddlers can only learn when they feel emotionally safe, a parent (mother, father or helper) is
required to join the class with their child. They will help to create the bond between the teacher and the child and accompany them in
their French journey. Even if we know that our programmes can be very attractive for adults too, we will only welcome one adult per
child (no ability in French is required).
Our
classes welcome all toddlers and families
All toddlers can join our classes, whenever they live in a non-French speaking family or have one or
both parents who are native French speakers.
A fun introduction to the French-speaking world
Starting French early makes it easier to master… Our immersion program makes it fun as well!
Routines, games, songs, creative arts and other interactive and creative activities especially designed for their age will guide your children during their journey into French language. No English will be spoken – and kids will love it!
A structured programme
Although the class will make sure that children have a great time, our dedicated and experienced team
created a very well-structured programme, focused on developing the language skills in respect with each child’s needs. Each class is
structured the same way, following a precise framework that will reassure the children and encourage them to communicate in French.
During each term, the groups will explore two specific themes (for example: the house / the family, the
sea / the transportations, the farm / the wolf) which introduce specific vocabulary and structures.
Developing speaking skills
Children will of course speak in English at first, but the teachers will encourage them to use French
as often as they can. Through repetition, they will be able to understand and to speak more and more French, starting by the basics
(meetings and greetings, colors, numbers, animals, etc). Thanks to immersion and to our small groups policy, each child will improve
according to his/her own level and pace.
Our first focus will first be on oral skills. Writing and reading skills will be slowly introduced when the children turn 5, respecting each child’s own abilities and interests (some will start writing by themselves while others will prefer sticking letters – our goal there is that they all start to be in touch with writing but through their specific own fun way!).
A safe and comforting environment
A classroom has been especially designed at AFKL to welcome young and very young children. Children are grouped according to their
age (for example: 3 and 4 / 4 and 5 / 5 and 6 years old).
Two adults, a teacher and an assistant, will make sure that each of them will enjoy the class. Children will get older together term after term: staying in the same timeslot with the same classmates, they will find happiness and confidence in stability.

A great and interactive programme to study French
Thanks to our interactive approach and the structure of French textbooks, children will improve their
four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing… in French! Games, artcraft, songs and storytelling will still be
used in class, as these are the best children’s ways of learning.
Our main goals are for them to enjoy their journey in both French language and culture and to slowly
become autonomous in their use of the language.
An internationally recognized framework for languages
Our curriculum follows the levels A1 and A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for
Languages. The methodology, pace of learning , teaching materials and topics are especially designed for young learners, in order to
enhance their interest and motivation.
