About the exhibition:
In the great metropolis, two worlds share the same space.  One is much older than the other.
Each of them is searching for paradise. With Red with Black, painting is only driven by emotion.

Dans la grande métropole, deux mondes se partagent l’espace, l’un est beaucoup plus ancien que l’autre.
Chacun recherche son paradis. Avec le rouge, avec le noir, la peinture ne choisit que l’émotion.

About the artist:
Yvan Magnani was born in Djebel Kouif, Algeria, in 1946. His family then settled in Rennes (France) where he went to school.
He took his choice for fine arts in 1964 (Ecole des BEAUX ARTS ) At the age of eighteen, he left Brittany with his family to continue his Art education in the south of France. Among other things he learnt pottery and ceramics in Vallauris.
During this period he painted his first canvases. This style was then influenceed by painters such as

In 1966 he studied at the BRERA ACADEMY in Milan (Italy), where he carried off the third prize at the end of the year (Triennale di Milano).

The following year he joined the Royal Academy of Stockholm but quickly returned to Paris, with the aim of studying at the Ecole du Louvre. Between 1968 and 1975 he went back to Vallauris while keeping his artistic activities mostly in Italy.
Many exhibitions followed around the world, from Europe to Vietnam and now Kuala Lumpur.
