Reading Night/La Nuit de la Lecture

For this 2021 edition, Nuit de la Lecture has moved online!

We will dedicate the evening to Malaysian literature with an online author discussion featuring authors Shih-Li Kow and Brian Gomez. Both are novelists and their books “The Sum of Our Folies” and “Devil’s Place” humorously depict contemporary Malaysia with a cast of well-rounded and strong characters. If Gomez’s “Devil Place” is a thriller, Kow’s “The Sum of Our Folies” is more of a coming-of-age novel.

We will discuss their writing methods, inspirations and their experiences as authors in Malaysia as well as their experience of having their works translated into French. The session will be live, so we will also answer any questions that you would like to ask!
